June

As the month comes to a close, I have had lovely times as well as trials. We finished up our trip to Europe, I started my summer job as a camp counselor and made a quick weekend trip to Florida for my UF preview.

Now, about Florida – both flights were messed up. Our flight down was canceled as we were driving to the airport, so we had to catch a flight out of Harrisburg rather than Trenton. That flight was then delayed two hours, leaving us arriving in Orlando around 2AM. When we did arrive, the rental car service was out of cars, so we had to wait while people returned their cars in order to get one. Then we drove to Gainesville and ended up home around 7AM. After a quick nap, Friday I managed to get a bunch of paperwork for University, which was awesome! Over the weekend I saw friends, went to church and spent time relaxing which was lovely. Monday was jammed pack because it was preview day (like orientation) at the University of Florida! I signed up with my bestie and we went to lots of seminars, met with advisors and learned other important details as we transfer. It was exciting to have all of this sorted. Then came the flight home, which did not end up being a flight. We headed back to Orlando on Tuesday morning for our flight. Around 1PM we boarded the flight, but were then notified that there was a mechanical issues that required everyone do de-board the plane. We hung around the terminal until around 5PM without any updates. The plane was supposed to stop in Charlotte before flying on to Trenton, but they announced it would stop in Charlotte but not continue due to severe weather. After discussing it, we knew we could either wait for the next plane out at 12PM the following afternoon, or get a rental car and start driving. We opted for the late because the rental was affordable and easy. Had we flown into Trenton, we would have taken an Uber to the train station, rode to Harrisburg and gotten another Uber to my car, which had been sitting at the airport. But that didn’t happen and we started the 16 hour car ride. The first day we made it to Savannah around midnight and trucked on the next day to make it back Wednesday night around midnight. With a few hours of sleep, I awoke this morning to head to camp for work.

Since this blog is called Cali’s Creations, I will share the few projects I completed! All were sewing projects including a pair of pj shorts, a zippered pouch and two bags. I am still working through the stash of green, pink and while fabric I acquired, so if everything from the past few months looks similar, that is why.

The 4th of July is this coming week! Are you doing anything to celebrate? I am working this week and hoping to see some fireworks!

Listening to all the podcast series I need to catch up on! Specifically Going Purple, plus I started With Love, Always and I have been enjoying it.

Reading books by Cathy Bramley. I picked up a bunch while we were in the UK and I am working my way through them, although rather slowly.

Watching the ABC Murders, a mini-series based on an Agatha Christie book. I am a huge fan of hers and like to watch adaptations of her work.
