July

The month is over and we are on to August already! Our month ended with a biking and camping trip on the Pine Creek Rail Trail. But back to the beginning of the month, I started by working the first week. The following week we spent a few days with our cousins, tubing and enjoying the summer weather. After that I spent the rest of the month working at camp! I am finished for the summer now but I really enjoyed being a camp counselor again. My brother, grandma, and cousin went to see the Barbie movie at the drive in, and as you can see below, we love a theme. As you may know July is also my birthday month! I did not go crazy and celebrate but spent most of the day relaxing because I woke up sick. I was forced to take the following Monday off to make sure I was ready to be around my campers again! I had to take a look back through my camera roll to see what else happened this month, but not much did!

Now, about the Pine Creek Rail Trail! My Grandma had been wanting to ride this trail for a while and we decided it was time to go for it! We booked a campground halfway along the trail in the town of Cedar Creek and started out on July 31st from Wellsboro Junction. That day we rode 30 miles through the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon along the river and through fields – it was so scenic! My parents went ahead of us and pitched the tents at Pettecoat Junction Campground. Right before we stopped for the night, Marc, Gram and I stopped in Blackwell, a small town with a general store. I bought two new-to-me Agatha Christie books, one of which I finished within 24 hours. That night we ate hamburgers and roasted marshmallows over the fire. In the morning we continued on until the end of the trail. It took us about 4 hours to finish the last 33 miles. The trail was gorgeous and the surface was amazing to ride on – I have been on some challenging and unkempt trails but this is not one of them.

This will be a short post for now, since I know I will have a lot to talk about in August with my Delight conference, some last days with family and returning to school!

This month I have been…

Listening to all my usual podcasts! I am (not so) patiently waiting for new episodes of Racing Lives, but I also continue to listen to Going Purple, With Love Always and Water into Wine.

Reading Agatha Christie books! I have always loved her, but it was renewed recently when I bought Mr. Parker Pyne, Dective while on vacation. I also finished Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? recently. If you want to see how crazy I am about collecting her books, click here.

Watching The Summer I Turned Pretty. I feel like everyone and their uncle is watching this series. At points it is overly dramatic and the main characters seem stupid (to me at least). I also watched The Pale Horse and Ordeal by Innocence, which are based on an Agatha Christie murder mysteries.
